On SUNDAY 27TH JANUARY 2024 I put my running shoes back on and ran (I use the term ran very loosely) WINDMILL WAY WANDER HALF MARATHON all in aid of Kidney Care UK.

The Marathon Moron is the name I fundraise under as I am a Moron for attempting any kind of running as I'm often out of shape and completely underprepared. I fund raise for three charities my chosen charities are; Kidney Care UK, RSPB & Bliss.

Kidney Care UK is a charity that is close to my heart as back in 2016 my best mate Ashley Kemp was diagnosed with kidney failure, he currently goes to dialysis three times a week and has the most positive outlook about everything. Ashley has been my best mate since we were eleven, he is one of the nicest and happiest people I know, love you buddy.

On May 26th 2019, I ran the Edinburgh Marathon and on October 13th 2019, I ran the Royal Parks Half Marathon dressed as a Pantomime Dame, both in aid of Kidney Care UK raising a total of £1039.

I also support the charity Bliss because of my Niece Ivy who was born premature at 28 weeks and 5 days and weighed just 1lb 15oz. Bliss helped my sister when Ivy was born as she found their website a great source of information. Ivy  turned six on the 4th of August this year, and is the most wonderful child in the world, without charities like Bliss many babies like Ivy may not be here.

In October 2021 I ran three half marathon all within a week of each other in aid of Bliss raising a total of £300.

My final charity that I support is the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds), I give monthly to this fantastic charity as I truly believe the work they provide is making a difference to our planet through preservation and conservation. Their commitment to preserving nature and helping the environment is something that's very easy to support.
